Cochin and Malay.

The original variety of Brahma chicken was the Light Brahma.
The Light Brahma was recognized in 1874 by the American Poultry Association.
The Light Brahma was a popular market fowl due to its attractive color pattern.
The Light Brahma was a leading meat breed in the United States from the 1850s to about 1930.
The Light Brahma was also a family fowl that could feed a moderate-sized family.
Characteristics
Light Brahmas are quiet, gentle, and easy to handle.
Light Brahmas are good brown egg layers, especially in winter.
Light Brahmas are almost immune to cold weather due to their heavy feathering.
